In My Mailbox (2)

In my mailbox was started by Kristi at The Story Siren.

Another slow week, but that's fine! The YA section of my library is incredibly ancient and really disappointing, so I've been on my toes trying to find a job to contribute to my book hunger.

Sparkling white snowdrifts, beautiful presents wrapped in ribbons, and multicolored lights glittering in the night through the falling snow. A Christmas Eve snowstorm transforms one small town into a romantic haven, the kind you see only in movies. Well, kinda. After all, a cold and wet hike from a stranded train through the middle of nowhere would not normally end with a delicious kiss from a charming stranger. And no one would think that a trip to the Waffle House through four feet of snow would lead to love with an old friend. Or that the way back to true love begins with a painfully early morning shift at Starbucks.

When Lily's internship at the Museum of Modern Art falls through, she thinks her summer is ruined. Then her dad hooks her up with a once in- a-lifetime chance to intern for Sabrina Snow—sixteen-year-old Hollywood starlet and the girl of the moment. From the pages of Party Weekly magazine, Sabrina's life looks like a nonstop merry-go-round of glamorous parties, red-carpet events, and designer clothes. But Lily soon learns that being Sabrina and being Sabrina's intern are two very different things.

In the third installment of James Patterson's Maximum Ride series, the time has arrived for Max and her winged "Flock" to face their ultimate enemy and discover their original purpose: to defeat the takeover of "Re-evolution", a sinister experiment to re-engineer a select population into a scientifically superior master race...and to terminate the rest. Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel have always worked together to defeat the forces working against them--but can they save the world when they are torn apart, living in hiding and captivity, halfway across the globe from one another?

Sadly, I won't be reading or reviewing the Maximum Ride book. I've never read the series since I'm kind of eh about James Patterson, but I hear amazing things about it from all of the blogs, so I figured why not? I asked my librarian which one was the first in the series, and she handed me that one. Big fail. So it won't be touched until I can somehow get ahold of the first two before I have to take it back. :[

That's it for this week. I'm twelve followers away from 50! Crazy because just a few days ago, I had been stuck on 16! Thanks to Kristi at The Story Siren for featuring me on Fresh Face Friday. I appreciate it a lot! :) My first contest will come right after I reach the fifty mark, nothing spectacular but keep a look out!
