Fan Art Friday (15)

This week's fan art is inspired by Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl. Congrats to the ladies for debuting at #3 on the NYT List! The book was incredible (read my review here) so it's much deserved.

Anyway, I think this has been the hardest fan art for me. I wanted to find the perfect Lena, but I didn't want to put anybody obnoxiously famous like Selena Gomez or Miranda Cosgrove on it. I spent hours & hours searching, and in the end, I found a pretty actress (Molly C. Quinn) & photoshopped her bright red hair to black. A little bit more hard work than I had anticipated, but well worth it- with the dark hair, she IS Lena to me.

I worked SO HARD on this one. I wanted to do something to fit the mood of the story. I hope people who've read the story understand the concept. For those who don't- I've split her up into two sides because in the story, she doesn't really know who she's going to become. The right side is her dark side (yellow eyes, full moon) and the left is her light side.

Of course, this will probably have no comparison over the real movie poster, when it comes out that is. Originally, I had made this a book cover, but I got opinions from a couple of fellow bloggers (Thank you Emilee & Briana!) that it'd work better for a movie. So voila!

If you've got fan art that you want to show off on my Fan Art Friday's, just send me an email at skellington28210@yahoo.com!

Happy weekend!
