Fan Art Friday (24)

This week's fan art is based off of the amazing The Iron King by Julie Kagawa. Instead of a movie poster, I switched it up and did a book cover. I always get incredibly nervous with these, since I'm an aspiring book cover designer, but I think I did a fair job. Capturing Julie's beautifully written Nevernever was NOT possible. Too many creatures, too much beauty, I just couldn't do it. But Grimalkin came to my rescue and saved the entire cover.

To read my review of The Iron King, click here or scroll down my blog. It's an incredible book and I definitely recommend that you check it out!

And If you want your fan art featured on Sophistikatied, send me an email at skellington28210@yahoo.com.

Have a great (snow filled) weekend!

  7. Preeeeetty... do you only do fan art for books you have read already? I'd love to see what you would do with my debut, OTHER. :)

  8. Thank you, all! :D

Karen, I tend to do better art with books that I've read since I have a grasp on the story. I do love challenges though, so I'll study the synopsis and try to create something based off of that. I'll let you know if anything presentable comes from it! (Of course, I'll replace it with a MUCH better one when I actually read the book)

  9. Really cool cover, I love the intensity and dimension!! Looking at that cover it makes me want to read that book, which in the end is what one aims at in designing book covers, getting the viewer to pick up the book, so you are defiantly on your way, great job!!
