Fan Art Friday (50)

This week's fan art is based on Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel. I really enjoyed this book, and I knew I wanted to do a piece for this one, but I was absolutely clueless. I gave up, actually. It wasn't until I was cruising through pictures that I saw the girl, instantly thought Lenah and had to play around with it. And this mock book cover was born! I actually really like it. Some of the earlier attempts ended up looking like 1950's horror flick posters, but I ended up pulling it off! Or at least, I think so. What say you?

Comments? Good, bad, epic fail? Let me know! And it's a huge coincidence, but I did not make this for Rebecca's super awesome contest going on right now. I didn't even know about it until after I went in search of her Twitter account, but I just might have to enter if she lets me!

As always, if you'd like your fan art featured on Fan Art Friday, just shoot me an email at skellington28210@yahoo.com!

Hope you guys have an awesome weekend! (And this is random, but a happy 50 fan art postings to me! Squee!)

  6. Very nice! I'm not sure if it's done on purpose, but I love the light-and-dark lighting technique, as well as the crisp and definite font colours. All of it is easy to read, and that's a really important aspect for a book cover (even a mock one) to be successful. You know, other than having a pretty picture, which this one also does!

  7. *blushes* Thanks for all the great comments, guys!

Cass, the light/dark technique WAS intentional. It was to represent her life as a vampire and her life as a human. I'm so glad you noticed it! I didn't think anybody would. Thank you! :)
