Fan Art Friday (55)

This week's fan art is based on The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan. I've yet to review the book, since I'm saving it for October (more appropriate, don't you think?) but it is EPIC. I loved it just as much, if not more than The Forest Of Hands & Teeth. If you've read the book, you'll probably (and hopefully) recognize the scene that I tried to create. And if you squint and put your face up to the screen, you can probably see the hand coming out of the waves. I didn't know it was so unnoticeable until a friend told me so, but I can't change it now. Just pretend it's scary, okay? ;)

Yay, nay, awesomesauce or epic fail? Comment and let me know! ALSO, I had the very fortunate pleasure of meeting Carrie Ryan, who is the sweetest person ever, at the Naperville, Illinois stop of the Smart Chicks tour. She signed some awesome swag for me to give away (and I also got another book signed by another author for one lucky reader!) so check back soon for a giveaway!

As always, if you've got YA bookish fan art that you'd like featured on Fan Art Friday, just shoot me an email at!

Happy weekend!

  1. It really catches the feel of the book! And don't worry, I noticed the hand at first look! :)

  2. This one is my favorite! It is creepy, relevant to the book, and looks like a great movie poster.

  3. This looks like it came right out of the book. So brilliant! Great job!

  4. Wow. I absolutely love this. One) If they ever make this movie, THIS is what the poster should be. Exactly. 2) I totally want to hang this up.
