Fan Art Friday (59)

This week's fan art is based on Need by Carrie Jones. I just finished this book and I can definitely see why it has such huge buzz. Expect my review soon! Anyway, this week I'm kind of slumming it. I worked so hard on my Tyger Tyger fan art for my blog tour stop that I only had Thursday to whip up something for today. And since I'm a hardcore procrastinator, I waited until an hour ago to get started. SO, this is kind of like a teaser poster for a movie .. with Zara all gold and glitterfied. If the image of the girl looks familar, it's because I've already used her (Shailene Woodley) twice so far, but I so frustrated with the search for a good Zara that I caved and used her. But I think she's a pretty decent choice. What say you?

Thoughts? Yay, nay, awesomesauce or epic fail? Comment and let me know! I know it's kind of plain this week, but hopefully I can do a more detailed piece for Need in future weeks when I have more time!

As always, if you've got YA bookish fan art that you'd like featured on Fan Art Friday, just shoot me an email at skellington28210@yahoo.com!

Happy weekend!

  6. The poster looks great, like usual. But the font isn't perfect yet, I think, maybe it needs a texture and I would also try to make it bigger.

  7. Setup very similar to captivate, but I love your version better ^^

  8. The poster looks great, I'd probably make the font a little bigger and spread out the golden particles on the right so there is not so much dark empty space. Other than that bravo. Looks brilliant.

  12. Arjun, I usually go through stock sites. But this particular model is an actress (Shailene Woodley) and I got the picture from a fansite.

  13. Thanks Katie - I take it you buy the stock? If not how do you get rid of the watermark - by the way you are a insparation to me because if you check out my book blog i have recently added a fanmade covers page. :)
