Today, I'm listing my top 6 favorite Halloween movies. Some of these movies don't necessarily relate to Halloween, but they're still themed appropriately and they're a necessity for every October of mine!
6. Beetlejuice (1988)
This movie terrified me as a little kid, but as I grew up, it quickly became one of my favorites. It's funny and creepy at the same time, and though it has nothing to do with Halloween, it's a perfect break from this gory slasher flicks out there that will leave you entertained and slightly freaked out!
5. Casper (1995)
There's nothing even remotely creepy about this movie, but it's still an October MUST for me. Casper The Friendly Ghost is a classic! I also have a VHS full of the original animations, but there's something amazing about the movie. Maybe the "Can I keep you?" line? *swoons*
4. The Craft (1996)
Teen witches? Seances? Kick-ass magic fight scenes? CHECK. This is way more serious than Beetlejuice and Casper, but it's an incredible and intense movie that showcases a more .. dangerous side of magic.
3. Igor (2008)
In this movie, the hunchbacked famous sidekick gets his turn in the spotlight as he tries to create a horrible creature that will win him top spot in an evil scientist contest. It's cute and funny and if you have kids or if you're just an overgrown child like me, it's definitely a must-see!
2. Will Vinton's Claymation Comedy Of Horrors (1991)
Not necessarily a movie, but it's perfect for Halloween. The claymation is a little outdated, but that's the great thing about it! And with non-scary monsters who come together for their annual Halloween party, it's great for all ages!
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1994)
Surprised? Probably not. If my layout wasn't enough indication, I'm absolutely obsessed with this movie. I have more merchandise for this movie than I can fit in my room! But a skeleton from Halloweentown who enlists the help of his creepy town residents to take over Christmas? It's the best of both holidays! And if you haven't seen this yet, crawl out of your cardboard box and go rent it! It's incredible.
As you can see, I'm a bit more on the kiddy side. Horror and gory movies = not my thing. But these movies are still awesome and I still recommend that you definitely check them out!
