Fan Art Friday (74)

This week's fan art is based on Across The Universe by Beth Revis. If you haven't read my GUSHING review, you can click here to do so. Originally I wanted to do a piece that showed Amy while she's still cryogenically frozen, but that was a bit too ambitious for me. So what is my go-to format for this kind of situation? Main character and pretty background! Yay! I tried to incorporate Godspeed as well. I'm well aware that that spaceship doesn't look a thing like Godspeed, but you find me a royalty free spaceship stock image and we'll talk, kay? Anyway, I like it well enough. Maybe in the future if I find the right resources I'll attempt a frozen Amy. But for now, enjoy pretty spaceish pale Amy!

Yay/nay, awesomesauce or epic fail? Comment and let me know! I love hearing your thoughts and opinions on my pieces!

If you've got YA book fan art that you'd like featured on Fan Art Friday, just shoot me an email at skellington28210@yahoo.com!

Happy Weekend!

  5. I really like it, and since I haven't actually read the story, I wouldn't have known that the spaceship didn't look right.

  6. I haven't read this book yet, but I have it on my tbr/wish list. I've heard great things about it. I absolutely LOVE your picture. I love the cover of the book, but this would be so much more beautiful as the cover. GREAT job!

  7. Can a girl say WOW?. I love the real cover of Across the Universe, but this is actually much more accurate! You did a great job of capturing the darker, tortured side of things and that sense of being trapped in space. In an odd way, it reminds me of the cover for CANDOR--you just know there's a dark side to the beauty.
