Top Ten Tuesday was created and is hosted by The Broke And The Bookish. This week's topic is books I've read because of other book bloggers - those books that I had to get my hands on at the insistence of another blogger.
In no particular order:
Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta - This one was recommended by Sara from The Hiding Spot. I put buying it off. And then I put it off and put it off and put it off some more. But when I won a writing contest and got to choose three HarperTeen books, I jumped on the chance to get this one and it was every bit as good as Sara had told me.
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr - I had bought this one and Ink Exchange to get signed at the Smart Chicks tour, but I didn't pick WL up until I read Jen from Makeshift Bookmark gushing about the series. Loved the book (Holy meatballs, can we talk about how much I love Seth?!) and I'm glad I was motivated to read it instead of letting it sit on my shelf for three years.
Graceling by Kristin Cashore - I love epic fantasy, and I'm not sure why I was being lazy to get a copy of this, but Harmony from Harmony's Radiant Reads would tweet about it occasionally and mention it in some of her posts and I finally had to see what all of the hooplah was about it. Um, why am I so stupid? Graceling is now one of my all-time favorite books!
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - If you're active in the blogosphere on Twitter, you most likely remember the fangirl tweets from Erica from The Book Cellar and Sara from The Hiding Spot. Those were probably the first two book bloggers to read Anna and it was their enthusiasm that had me so desperate to get a copy. Luckily for me, when I stayed the night at Sara's dorm she let me read her copy and it was as every bit as amazing as they had made it out to be!
As You Wish by Jackson Pearce - I remember this being on one of Kristi from The Story Siren's best of the year lists. I went back and read her review and then several other blogger reviews and had to buy it. I'm glad I did because it introduced me brilliance that is Jackson Pearce, who is now one of my all-time favorite authors.
Hourglass by Myra McEntire - I already had this galley and it was under a large pile of TBR books. According to my galley calender, I wouldn't have read it until the day after its release, but I bumped it up several months early when Julie from Bloggers [Heart] Books began tweeting about how incredible it is. And I definitely agree!
Forget You by Jennifer Echols - I remember Sara from The Hiding Spot (one of my closest blogger friends, if you haven't guessed yet) gushing about how great Jennifer Echols is and how she writes incredibly sexy and daring scenes. I just bought this two weeks ago and finished it the other day and whew. *fans self*
I know there are more but I'm spacing right now. I'll add them later if I can think of them! (If you know you recommended me a book and you know that I read it, remind me!) Thanks to all the awesome bloggers that keep giving me awesome books to read! I love you guys! (But my bank account, however, does not)
