Fan Art Friday (89)

This week's fan art is inspired by Virtuosity by Jessica Martinez. (Click here to read my glowing review!) Very rarely do I do fan art inspired by contemporary novels. As much as I enjoy them, there's usually nothing visually imaginative that I can try to put into a piece. But I knew I would do something for Virtuosity the minute I finished it. Carmen and Jeremy were these intense, conflicted characters and I wanted to feature them both. For Carmen, I choose Danielle Campbell. (She was in that one train wreck of a DCOM about a girl falling in love with a teenage rockstar .. ick) And for Jeremy, I choose Will Moseley. Yes, he's one of the top poster boys for cute, blonde YA boys, but I think he fits the part quite nicely. My photoshopping is a bit rough around some edges, but I actually consider this one of the more neater, professional looking posters I've ever done.

Thoughts? Yay/nay, awesomesauce or epic fail? Comment and let me know! Your feedback is always appreciated!

If you've got YA bookish fan art that you'd like featured on Fan Art Friday, just shoot me an email at!

Happy Weekend!

  1. Like your choices! And your fan art is gorgeous, as always.

  2. This one is fantastic. I haven't read the book yet, but you make a good case for it just with your poster :]

  3. Is it bad if I think this art looks better than the actual book cover? At least this one hints at what the story is actually about.
