Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Want Santa To Bring

Top Ten Tuesday was created and is hosted by The Broke And The Bookish. This week's topic is books I want Santa to bring me - the ones I hope to find under my tree on Christmas morning. Every year, per request of my family, I make a gigantic list of books that I'd love to get. I rarely, if ever, get any because my family thinks I receive so many books throughout the year that I don't need them on Christmas too, but here are a few that I'm crossing my fingers they make an exception for!

In no particular order:

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor - Favorite book of the year. Favorite book of all-time. But I've been so strapped for cash that I've been holding back on buying a finished copy. My birthday is coming up in about two weeks so if I don't see it under the tree Sunday morning, I might just have to treat myself to an early present!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgernstern - I've heard so, so many amazing things about this book. It'd be the first non-YA book I've read since being forced to read books like The Great Gatsby in high school, but I'm excited to read it!

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins - Absolutely LOVED Anna and the French Kiss, but haven't gotten around to buying this one yet.

Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev - I've been dying to read this book for years. And even if I ended up absolutely hating the book, I'd still keep the book proudly on my shelf because the covers in that series are ridiculously gorgeous.

Texas Gothic by Rosemary Clement-Moore - This book was highly recommended by a few of my favorite authors so it's at the very top of my wishlist! Plus, ghosts and hot cowboys ... seems like a done deal.

Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton - Somebody tried to get me to buy this one while at The Strand in New York during BEA, but I declined because I didn't have anymore suitcase space. But it's been on my to-get list since!

Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins - Not sure why I haven't gotten this book yet. I hear nothing but spectacular things about this series!

Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead - I think I'm the only blogger, even reader, left in existence who hasn't read these novels. I've been burned by so many "vampire boarding school" books in the past that I've been so hesitant. Willing to give them a try though so I'd love to get the whole series!

Wildcat Fireflies by Amber Kizer - Loved Meridian and it's been a few years since it's release, but I'm so ready to dive back in Meridian's fenestra story and her relationship with the gorgeous Tens!

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - Another favorite of 2011 that I've been holding off buying a finished copy of. Perhaps another early birthday gift to myself? I'm sort of dying to reread!

Are any of these books on your Christmas wishlist? If not, what are some books you're hoping to find under your tree on Sunday morning? Comment and let me know!

  4. Yo Vampire Academy is 1000x better than the other vampire boarding school books. It is compelling and kickass and excels in characterization.

    ALSO The Night Circus rocks.

I hope Santa brings you all of these :-D
