Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Want To Gift!

Top Ten Tuesday was created and is hosted by The Broke And The Bookish. This week's topic is books I want to gift - titles that I'm itching to give to family and friends this Christmas!

In no particular order:

Divergent by Veronica Roth - I've actually already bought this book to give to my best friend, Krystal. She absolutely loved The Hunger Games, but won't believe me when I tell her that, in my opinion, Divergent is actually better. (Yes, better. Love me some Hunger Games, but Divergent is just ... wow. Don't throw rocks at me please!)

The Dark Divine series by Bree Despain - The first two books are already wrapped and ready for my brother's girlfriend to open. She's a huge fan of paranormal romance, but has been sticking to stuff like House Of Night and Evermore. (Ick) So I'm aiming to open her eyes to some of the amazing paranormal romance out there.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor - I want to give this book to everyone. EVERYONE. It was definitely one of the best books I've read this year and I want everyone to have the reading experience that comes with this story.

Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake - Would it be weird if I said I wanted to give this one to my grandma? She's weird because she likes religious, spiritual novels but then she also loves horror. I think Anna would be perfect for her since the terror and gore isn't toned down for YA at all.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - I want to gift this to myself. Because it was amazing and for some unexplainable reason, I haven't gotten my hands on a finished copy yet.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - Another one I want to gift to myself. It's not YA, but I've heard that it's an incredible book and I guess Summit is adapting it into a movie as well! Merry Christmas to me?

Only six this week! I don't have a lot of YA readers in my life, pretty much just my best friends, so I don't have an abundance of people that I can buy for. What are some books you're planning on gifting to your friends/family?

  1. We have Divergent and Smoke & Bone in common.

The Night Circus would make a swell gift, especially to yourself! I hope to read that one soon too.

I agree with you that Divergent is up there with The Hunger Games, and I can't imagine your friend not liking it.

I love that your grandma would enjoy reading Anna Dressed In Blood :)
    Happy holidays!
