Top Ten Tuesday was created and is hosted by The Broke And The Bookish. This week's topic is favorite covers of 2012 that have been released/revealed so far! 2012 seems like the year of epic covers so this is going to be pretty tough to narrow down.
In no particular order:
Shadows Cast By Stars by Catherine Knutsson- I want this as a poster. A gigantic poster to hang right above my bed so I can admire the pretty whenever I want to. *claps for the cover designer*
Above by Leah Bobet - I love everything about this cover. I love that it seems to fit in with the story, I love the sepia tones, the fonts, the way the sunlight hits her face but we can't see it. Gah! It's so gorgeous.
Ironskin by Tina Connolly - I'm pretty much over the trend of girls in pretty dresses, but this is definitely one of the exceptions.
Larkstorm by Dawn Rae Miller - I love that publishers are starting to use artwork and vector images on their covers. This is one example of why we need to see more of them. I haven't heard of this book, author or publisher but I still have plans to buy JUST for that extraordinary cover.
For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund - Another pretty dress cover, another exception. I especially love the font and the colors of the font. I would definitely make a beeline for this book if I saw it on shelves at the bookstore.
The Cavendish Home For Boys and Girls by Claire Legrand - More illustrated cover art! Another one that I want a poster of! Look at that kickass typography!
The Best Night Of Your (Pathetic) Life by Tara Altebrando - This cover is so fun and upbeat. I love the images in the text and the silhouettes of the characters/car up top. Definitely has that awesome "road trip" vibe to it.
The Peculiars by Maureen Doyle McQuerry - The title with the steampunk decorations and those shiny wings ... so insanely cool.
The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna - The images in her silhouette are so awesome. And I love the glow around the cover, especially since this in black & white because the color makes it pop. Will definitely be adding this gorgeous cover to my shelf.
The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour - What a bright, colorful, happy cover. Also, I really want her sunglasses.
