This week's fan art isn't exactly fan art but I thought it'd be an appropriate place to post it. The lovely Shanyn brought this cover contest - hosted by Bookalicious and Coliloquy to my attention - where the winner will receive money AND their cover could BE the actual cover of the book. So for someone who aspires to design book covers for a living, this was a pretty big deal. I haven't actually read Witch's Brew yet, so it was a bit of a challenge. I wasn't sure how big of a part the lillies played (finding dying, shriveled stocks of a lily was nearly IMPOSSIBLE) and I wasn't sure if my fire aspect would work but I liked what I ended up with and regardless of if I win, I'm incredibly proud of it. I'm also someone who likes covers in series to match so I really did my best to give it the same feel as the Witch's Brew. Thoughts?

ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm SO relieved you think the flowers like wilted because those were regular, lively, colorful lillies when I started and I had to manipulate them to look dead. Glad they turned out! :)
