Blog Tour for LEVEL 2 + Giveaway!

I'm so excited about this blog tour because I get to spotlight a book from one of my favorite bloggers and book people in general - Lenore Appelhans. Her debut, Level 2, was released on Tuesday and I'm honored that I was asked to help promote it!

I'm also excited about what I get to share with you all today. Because a huge chunk of my life and blog revolves around design, I feel like this is the most appropriate content for Sophistikatied. But enough rambling! I'll let Lenore take it from here.

Anatomy of a hive:

While I was writing LEVEL 2, I could visualize exactly how the hives looked. I talked to my brother-in-law, an architect, to get the dimensions correct. He designed this cross section of a hive for me so I can share my vision of a hive with the rest of the world.

In this cross section, you can see the memory chambers along the side walls as well as the stairs that connect the levels. The circles on the ceiling of the hive are reminiscent of the circles on the cover, and are the ventilation shafts that the Morati use to pump in their calming gas (a substance derived from the River Lethe) when drones get unruly.
