I'm always on the hunt for fun bookish things to do on my blog but when the fabulous Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner created and posted her A To Z Bookish Survey in early August, I was still on my unofficial blogging hiatus. Now that I'm back, I had to partake! And if you guys know of any other fun quiz stuff like this for blogs/reading - please comment and let me know!
Author you’ve read the most books from:
R.L. Stine! When I was a kid I had the BIGGEST Goosebumps collection ever and then when I turned thirteen or so, it expanded to Fear Street. I was obsessed.
Best Sequel Ever:
Fever by Lauren DeStefano. Even though The Chemical Garden trilogy isn't my favorite, I say this because I wasn't crazy about Wither when I first read it but Fever totally changed my entire view on the first two books. So good!
Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick! Doing some Halloween blog planning and decided it was finally time. It's SO scary and gross so far!
Drink of Choice While Reading:
Either Diet Pepsi or water. Unless it's super early in the morning, those are really the only two things I drink in general anyway.
E-reader or Physical Book?
Physical! Duh! I love my E-reader (which is actually a tablet) for e-galleys but that's about it. I'd never spend money on e-books. Nope nope nope.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
Silas from Sisters Red pops into my mind. He's charming and funny and sweet. The only problem is that I'd be so out of his league, it'd be like we were playing completely different sports.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
The Selection by Kiera Cass. It was on my wishlist but I knew that I would never buy it for myself because it didn't sound like my cup of tea but WOW - it's now one of my favorites!
Hidden Gem Book:
Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly.
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
Um ... hm .. this is hard! I guess I'd say every time I meet a favorite author of mine. I have this twisted way of thinking sometimes when I'm feeling down on myself. I always say to myself, "Katie, your sense of humor is awful and you're not mature or classy enough to be a respected author." And then I'll meet another author who is so down to earth and has the same gutter humor as I do and it makes me feel a million times better and motivates me again.
Waterfell by Amalie Howard!
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Erotica, for sure. I know there are some really well written ones out there but I'm too innocent! Even the sexiest YA scenes make my face turn as red as a tomato. Also, I still kind of avoid historical fiction. I've read a few that have been good but it's just not a genre for me!
Longest Book You’ve Read:
Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix! 870 pages of magical goodness!
Major book hangover because of:
Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken. Ohhhh man.
Number of Bookcases You Own:
Four. Well, five if you count my floor because that's where a lot of them tend to be sitting ...
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.
Preferred Place To Read:
In bed! I love doing my night routine and curling up with my blanket and book and just reading until I pass out!
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
“Did you know...you make me so happy that sometimes I actually forget to breath? I'll be looking at you, and my chest will get so tight...and it's like, the only thought in my head is how much I want to reach over and kiss you.” Alexandra Bracken (The Darkest Minds)
Elixir by Hilary Duff. When I got the book a few years ago, a signed copy, I literally screamed because I was a huge fan of Lizzie McGuire and Hilary Duff when I was growing up. (Even went to see her in concert!) But this book ... oh wow. Nope.
Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):
Holy meatballs, so many. The Siren trilogy by Trica Rayburn, Gone series by Michael Grant, Angelfire trilogy. I need to win the lottery so I can buy all these!
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken and Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Sarah Beth Durst. Why is she not more popular? Her books are all full of fantasy and wonder and amazingness. I freak out whenever she announces a new book deal!
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
ALLEGIANT. Of course.
Worst Bookish Habit:
Flipping ahead. I'm guilty of flipping forward tons of chapters in the story and potentially ruining the entire book for myself. =x
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl.
Your latest book purchase:
Eon by Allison Goodman.
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken. Started at about two in the morning and ended up finishing it at 6:30am. No regrets - it was incredible!
